Motivation

A large proportion of people in this generation participate in investment, ETF is a smart choice for most people. Exchange-traded fund (ETF) let index securitization, investors do not need to invest directly in a basket of securities, but invest indirectly through holding ETFs. For investor , ETFs have many advantages: Transaction and management are low-cost The portfolio is relatively stable Diversification of risk and high liquidity Single investment can reach various of investment results We chose to study Russell 1000 ETF as the object, and make some application to support we learn about ETF and relevant knowledge.

Russell 1000 ETF The ETF representing the Russell 1000 is called the iShares Russell 1000 ETF and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), ticker symbol “ IWB ”. Composed of the largest 1,000 companies in the US stock market(e.g. Apple, Microsoft、Facebook..) Russell 1000's company’s average market capitalization is more than $80 billion, which is seen as a key indicator of market investment. Russell 1000 is a broader index than the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and the S&P500, although these three are considered as broad market benchmarks. Therefore, many managers prefer the Russell 1000 as a representative index for a large investment.
