Aside from the sun and moon, this planet is the brightest object in the sky. Mercury Uranus This planet has a great red spot and four moons. This planet is sometimes the furthest from the sun but is not the smallest! This planet has 27 moons. Which planet is closest to the sun? Neptune Although this planet is smaller than Earth, it’s surface area is about the same. This is the sixth planet from the sun and named for the god of agriculture. Jupiter Venus Pluto
