Future involvement of the CPMR Final declaration – CPMR General Assembly October 2017 The CPMR welcomes the announcement by President Juncker of a new European industrial strategy. The CPMR calls on the EU to integrate a maritime industrial dimension, along the lines of the LeaderShip 2020 report. Such a dimension should include ambitious objectives for the development of marine energies to ensure a clean and competitive energy supply, enhancing the autonomy of the island regions which suffer from permanent constraints, diversification in traditional maritime industrial sectors, and the location of industrial employment in Europe
