How has GEOLOGICAL EVOLUTION AFFECTED LIFE on Earth? PART 2!

THEORY of PLATE TECTONICS GEOLOGICAL EVOLUTION based upon: THEORY of PLATE TECTONICS CONVECTION has MOVED CONTINENTS ALL AROUND EARTH Assumes the CONCEPT of UNIFORMITARIANISM ROCK CORES, MINING & SEISMIC SENSORS MAP ALL our LAYERS BELOW US! Using the LAW of SUPERPOSITION to RELATIVELY DATE RADIOACTIVE DATING to ABSOLUTELY (exactly) DATE FOSSIL EVIDENCE that LANDMASSES have MOVED ALL OVER our planet from EQUATOR to the POLES & back again. HOW DO WE KNOW?

Let’s start off with a few good questions…

According to scientific evidence, how long have we had life on Earth? about 5,700 years about 3,800,000 years about 3,800,000,000 years about 3,800,000,000,000 years

Life has been on this planet for at least 3.8 BILLION of YEARS! THESE UNDERWATER STROMATOLITES ARE COLONIES OF CYANOBACTERIA BUILDING ATOP ONE ANOTHER FOR BILLIONS OF YEARS!

Just this MONTH (3/17), scientists found more evidence of microbes in rock dating back to 3.8 billion years ago… https://www.theguardian.com/science/2017/mar/01/worlds-oldest-fossils-found-canada-say-scientists-quebec-haematite-377bn-428bn-years

What kind of organism is a cyanobacteria? a non-photosynthesizing eukaryote a non-living prokaryote a photosynthesizing prokaryote a photosynthesizing eukaryote?

Photosynthesizing colonies of cyanobacteria were the first life on Earth that could do what? Live in water Live in water and produce oxygen Live in water and survive extreme conditions Live in water and absorb chemical energy

Because photosynthesizing bacteria have existed for billions of years, all complex eukaryotic life like you and me (with mitochondria in each of our cells) have oxygen to breathe!

Scientists have fossilized evidence that microbes have been photosynthesizing on Earth for how long? 200,000 years 2,000,000 years 3,200,000,000 years 3,800,000,000 years

Unfortunately, most evidence of ancient life has been destroyed by: erosion weathering decomposition plate movements all of the above

Unfortunately, most evidence of ancient life has been destroyed by decomposition, erosion, weathering & plates movements, erosion weathering decomposition plate movements all of the above

Despite all the life that covers our planet and all the ground under our feet, these spots represent the only places where we’ve found fossils in the US.

Scientists believe that all these processes (erosion, weathering, decomposition etc.) have been going on since Earth was here. This concept is known as what? UNIFORMITARIANISM SUPERPOSITION PLATE TECTONICS CLOSED SYSTEMS

Even though most fossilized evidence of ancient life has been destroyed by erosion, weathering, decomposition & plates movements, STROMATOLITES have been so successful for so long that we have found their fossils across the globe from NY to Australia to Eastern Europe!

Why would STROMATOLITE FOSSILS make BAD INDEX FOSSILS? Stromatolites have existed only briefly. Stromatolites have been widespread over the globe. Stromatolites have not existed briefly. Stromatolites exist in water.

What makes a fossil a GOOD INDEX FOSSIL? While it was widespread across multiple continents, it existed relatively briefly. It must have been a cast or mold. It must have existed all over the planet and for many thousands of millenia. It must be found in only in certain layers of Earth in only one place on the planet.

INDEX fossils are GUIDE fossils or INDICATOR fossils because they help scientists identify & define geologic time periods. While it was widespread across multiple continents, it existed relatively briefly. It must have been a cast or mold. It must have existed all over the planet and for many thousands of millenia. It must be found in only in certain layers of Earth in only one place on the planet.
