How do computers work? Storage

Memory - Binary System A = 01100010 Computers only speak one language and that language is called “BINARY” they can only read zeros and ones. Each character, number, symbol that you see on the computer screen is recorded by the computer as a combination of zeroes and ones. An example of this is that everytime you type in the letter A this equals to a combination of Zero and Ones shown below. A = 01100010

Memory units A combination of 8 zeroes and ones that represent a number or letter is called a bit. This is the smallest unit of memory on digital data below are some examples of memory units and data Some units of memory 1024 bits 1 Byte (B) 1024 Bytes (B) 1 Kilobyte (KB) 1024 KB 1 Megabyte (MB) 1024 MB 1 Gigabyte (GB) 1024 GB 1 Terabyte (TB) 1024 TB 1 Petabyte (PB)
