FRESHWATER BIOMES

What is a freshwater biomes The freshwater biome is made up of any of body of water that is made of freshwater such as lakes, ponds, streams, and rivers. They cover roughly 20% of the Earth and are in various locations spread out all over the world. Most freshwater biomes consist of moving water and contain many types of fish.

Ponds and lakes Pond is a body of standing water, either natural or artificial, that is usually smaller than a lake. lake is a large body of water within a body of land. It is seasonal remnants from the Pleistocene glaciation. Scattered throughout the earth summer (4° C to 22° C) Winter (4° C to 0° C) Living organisms like plant, insects, animals lotic ecosystem

Streams and rivers stream is a body of water with a current, confined within a bed and stream banks. river is a natural flowing watercourse, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river.  depends on the climate it is located in. They can be found everywhere aquatic green plants and algae catfish and carp Lentic ecosystem

Wetlands Wetlands are economic drivers because of their key role in fishing, hunting, agriculture and recreation.  Marshes, swamps, and bogs amphibians, reptiles, birds wetlands found in the tropic zone Around the equator  (50 °C) polar climate (−50 °C ) these support different species of animals, such as shrimp, shellfish, and various grasses. Lotic ecosystem

MARINE BIOMES

WHAT IS A MARINE BIOMES? Marine regions cover about three-fourths of the Earth's surface and include oceans, coral reefs, and estuaries. Marine algae supply much of the world's oxygen supply and take in a huge amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide. The evaporation of the seawater provides rainwater for the land.

OCEANS An ocean is a body of saline water that composes much of a planet's hydrosphere. covers almost 71% of its surface. It is the largest body of water intertidal, pelagic, abyssal, and benthic. array of algae and small animals, such as herbivorous snails, crabs, sea stars, and small fishes. -1.94 degrees Celsius to about 17 degree The ocean climate affects the worldwide climate. There are often sea ice at their surface in different regions.

Coral reefs Coral reefs are diverse underwater ecosystems held together by calcium carbonate structures secreted by corals. Coral reefs are built by colonies of tiny animals found in marine waters that contain few nutrients. Coral reefs are warm, clear, shallow ocean habitats in life. They can be found as barriers along continents   Coral reefs develop in shallow, warm water, usually near land 21 - 30 °C Coral reefs are DYING shelter for many animals in this complex habitat

ESTUARIES Body of water formed where freshwater from rivers and streams flows into the ocean, mixing with the seawater Microflora like algae, and macroflora, such as seaweeds, marsh grasses, and mangrove trees worms, oysters, crabs, and waterfowl. seasonal water temperature (and dissolved oxygen) is an important indicator of habitat quality for many estuarine species.
