Why the Accelerator of your Car won't Respond Properly

People often found that in their high mileage car's the acceleration cannot occur properly.

The driver unable to find it in their usual driving, but get clear about it when they drive in the hill or during the quick acceleration in fast-moving traffic.

In this situations, they will come to notice the slow acceleration and the engine of their car are struggling to keep up.

This problem most common in the high mileage car, if you let it go for a while, then it can need serious or immediate concerns regarding the engine.

You can go through the following reasons behind the slow acceleration of your car in order to fix it as well.

Malfunctioning of air flow meter

Generally, the air flow meter of your car is located and attached to the inlet of the air cleaner.

The main function of the air flow meter is to measure the air mass that is flowing into the inlet air cleaner.

Then it is responsible for sending the data to the engine's electronic control unit for calculating the air- fuel mixture.

When the air flow filter of your car is malfunctioned or clogged, then your car unable to accelerate properly.

Malfunctioning of the oxygen sensor

The oxygen sensor of your car is used to monitor the exhaust emission and analyze the air-fuel ratio that would be going through the engine.

However, the sensor can send the information to the computer unit of the engine about the amount of fuel being used.

If the sensor of the car gets damaged, then the engine will have no idea about the ratio of air-fuel mixture intake by the engine.

In this way, the malfunctioning of the oxygen sensor can cause the slow acceleration of your car when the fuel pedal pressed completely.

Issues in the Electronic control unit

Sometimes your car unable to accelerate properly due to the error in the electronic control unit.

The ECU in a fuel injection system controls the amount of fuel going to the engine, if it is not working properly, then it will affect the acceleration.

If your car has taken a knock, then the sensor of the ECU should be wear and tear as well as problems occur in it.

When you find this types of issues in your ECU unit, then your car loses power and not able to accelerate properly.

Vacuum leaks

The supply points and connectors of the engine mostly uses the vacuum hoses for traveling the fuel and air of the engine.

If you find any types of loose connections or holes in these hoses, then your car may have the vacuum leak issues.

When you find out the vacuum leak issues in your car then the external elements of the fuels or air enter the engine and makes your car stutter.

If your car can lose its acceleration, then it could be the problems related with the vacuum hoses.

Conclusion

When your car does not accelerate properly, then it can compromise the safety of your passengers and other drivers on the road.

It's better to consult with a professional to carefully observe the acceleration problems in your car and fix it as early as possible.

Thank You!
