Most Effective Procedures to Repair a Brake Booster

The brake booster is the vacuum-powered system in your vehicle to ensure that the brakes are work properly.

Its responsibility is to kick the ABS system of your car and apply the right amount of pressure to run the brakes perfectly.

If the brake booster of your car loses its power, then it needs repair or replacement to ensure that your ABS braking system can work continually.

Many people may prefer to go to an auto mechanic or a garage for performing the repair of their brake booster.

You can save your money by performing the brake booster by own through these following steps carefully.

Pull out the motor cylinder

Before repairing the brake booster, you first need to raise your car on a car jack in order to reach the brake booster.

Along the driver's side in the front portion of the car you can reach into the cavity and locate the master cylinder.

Take the tube-nut wrench, place it over a brake line and turn it, make sure that you will remove the brake lines using either a tape or marker pain.

Repeat the process with other brake lines. Use another wrench to remove the master cylinder and make it free from the brake lines.

Pull out the old booster

For removing the brake booster from the brake pedals, you can use the pliers to take off the pin that holding the brake booster.

You can use a socket wrench for removing the bolts that can keep the brake booster connected to the engine.

Make sure that you have properly examined the brake booster for identifying its flaw and replace the damaged part.

Connect the new booster

Now the replaced new booster can be screwed into the place of the old booster by firmly holding the brake pedal.

By using a socket wrench, you can connect the booster to the engine and replace the pin in the booster and use the previous bolts.

Now you can add the master cylinder after cleaning it completely and make sure that there is no damage in the cylinder.

Replace the master cylinder

For replacing the master cylinder you can follow the reverse steps that you are used to extract it from the engine.

Re-attach the cylinder to the housing by using a socket wrench and tighten the bolts securely to make sure that it does not move.

Then connect the brake lines to the cylinder by making them against the tape when removing it from the cylinder.

By using the tube nut wrench, screw back the master cylinder and repeat the process with the opposite side.

Last words

Before you finish the repairing process of the brake booster check all the components are connected correctly.

Once you testing the brakes make sure that the brake booster is correctly placed in your car, then you can remove the jack.
