Title Orientation Author Date Legend Scale What every map should include.

Title Name the map.

Orientation Include a compass rose that identifies, north, south, east and west.

Author If you created the map, put your name on it. If someone else created the map, give them credit.

Date Record the date the map was created.

Legend Create a key that indicated what each symbol stands for.

Scale Ratio of the distance between two places on a map and the actual distance between those two places on the Earth’s surface.
