Volume 154, Issue 5, Pages 1229-1231 (April 2018) Inhibiting Cytokinesis in the Liver: A New Way to Reduce Tumor Development  Chantal Desdouets  Gastroenterology  Volume 154, Issue 5, Pages 1229-1231 (April 2018) DOI: 10.1053/j.gastro.2018.03.006 Copyright © 2018 AGA Institute Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 Role of anillin actin-binding protein (ANLN) in liver tumor development. Zhang et al demonstrate that ANLN is overexpressed in human liver cancers. Knockdown of ANLN in mouse liver cells blocks cytokinesis, leading to hepatocyte polyploidization. Blocking ANLN expression inhibits the development of liver tumors in mice without inducing damage in nontransformed parenchymal cells.
