The Value of an education

How important do you think an education is to your future?

Do you know the average salary for a high school dropout is? Do you know what a high school graduate or persons with a degree average salary is?

high school dropout: $19,000 high school graduate with no postsecondary education: $26,200 associate's degree: $33,400 bachelor's degree: $42,200 master's degree: $52,300 doctoral degree: $70,700 professional degree: $81,500

Workers under 25 represent only about one- fifth of hourly paid workers, they made up half of those paid the federal minimum wage or less!

a single-person household is considered poor if his or her income is $11,670 or less. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. Minimum wage will earn you $15,080 per year. This puts you $3,410 above the national poverty line.
