Bob Shea the Author Seems to place more focus on the characters rather than events Characters have BIG attitude/personality Characters react to everyday encounters (e.g., Dinosaur VS. series) VERY humorous and comical! Emotions and ACTIONS are highlighted through font styles

Annotation & Analysis Don’t Play with Your Food! (2014) A monster named Buddy is VERY hungry! After his rampage, he comes across three bunnies and decides to have them for lunch. The bunnies stop Buddy and offer him a cupcake instead. Overcome with kindness and a full stomach, Buddy decides to eat the bunnies tomorrow. After a series of fun activities, he comes to realize that the bunnies are actually his friends!

Annotation & Analysis Unicorn Thinks He’s Pretty Great (2013) Goat is pretty upset. Everything Goat does is outdone by Unicorn and his magic powers. As Goat expresses his feelings about Unicorn, he gets hungry. While Goat was eating a slice of goat cheese pizza, Unicorn shows up. The two begin to talk and they soon realize that they both are special in their own way!

Annotation & Analysis I’m a Shark(2011) Shark isn’t afraid of anything! Well, almost anything. He faces a giant squid, the dark, and even a big mean bear. Shark is feeling extremely confident until he comes across a spider. Soon, Shark comes to realize that everyone is afraid of something, and that’s okay!

Annotation & Analysis Dinosaur VS. Bedtime (2008) Dinosaur faces a variety of challenges as he prepares for bedtime. Nothing can stop him; not a pile of leaves, a big slide, or even a bowl of spaghetti! Soon, Dinosaur comes to face his biggest challenge… Bedtime! He is utterly defeated as his roars turn into snores, and he’s fast asleep. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLCgr-hfgow

Annotation & Analysis Dinosaur VS. The Library (2011) Dinosaur is back again, and faces a variety of challenges as he makes his way to the library for story-time. On the way, he converts a cow, some baby chicks, and even a turtle into roaring like a dinosaur! When he finally reaches the library, he’s challenged with the task of staying quiet during the story. Can he do it? He does!

Fun Facts Did you know that the dinosaur in Bob Shea’s Dinosaur VS. series is based on his son Ryan? Bob Shea’s wife challenged him to eat an entire apple pie once… Bob won! Bob shared an elevator with Denzel Washington once.
