Finding Equivalent Fractions Comparing Pizza! Finding Equivalent Fractions

Compare Pizzas! How many slices of cheese pizza will it take to equal one slice of Pepperoni Pizza??? What fraction is that???

Can you compare three? If it takes two slices of cheese to equal one pepperoni, how many slices of sausage will it take? What fraction is that? What can you tell me about these three fractions???

Rule in finding equivalent fractions!!! You can change the numbers in a fraction by multiplying or dividing BOTH the numerator and denominator by the SAME number. In other words . . . WHATEVER YOU DO TO THE NUMERATOR, YOU MUST DO TO THE DENOMINATOR! ½ = 2/4 = 3/6 = 4/8 = etc. . . . 1 x 2 = 2 and 2 x 2 = 4, so ½ = 2/4; 1 x3 = 3 and 2 x 3 = 6, so ½ = 3/6; and so on it goes!!!
