Unit 3 review: Water Invertebrate animals

The largest group of invertebrates is the Crustaceans. Coelenterates. Mollusks.

How many pairs of legs does a lobster have? 4 5 6

A sea anemone can sting tiny fish with its Gills. Sponges. Tentacles.

Coral animals and jellyfish. Clams and octopuses. Two kinds of coelenterates are Crabs and lobsters. Coral animals and jellyfish. Clams and octopuses.

Which coelenterate has a transparent body and no brain? Sea anemone Coral animal Jellyfish

Losing a shell and growing a larger one is Making a reef. A way of hiding. Called molting.

New coral animals attach themselves to Vertebrae. Skeletons. Plants.

Most mollusks have Claws. Shells. Bad breath.

A crab is a Crustacean. Coelenterate. Mollusk.

Starfish move with their Tube feet. Jointed legs. Stiff spines.

What does a clam have that helps it to open and close its mouth? Foot Ligament Tendon

An invertebrate water animal that can look like a head of cabbage or trees without leaves is a Coral animal. Octopus. Sponge.

What force does an octopus use to move? Gravity Netwon’s law Jet propulsion

Which mollusk does not have a shell? Octopus Clam Snail

Lobsters have Claws. Scales Bad attitudes.

How many tentacles do snails have? 2 3 4

An invertebrate is an animal With a backbone. Without a backbone. Without a brain.

An octopus escapes from its enemies by Giving them a dirty look. Stinging them with its tentacles. Squirting out a black liquid that darkens the water.

What happens if a starfish is cut into pieces? It can grow new body parts or grow into new starfish. It dies. It’s impossible to cut a starfish into pieces.

A mollusk is an invertebrate with a Backbone. Soft body. Two brains.

What do lobsters use their legs for? (2)

How does a sea anemone use its tentacles to get food? (3)

What do most food chains start with and why? (2)

Name the different groups of water invertebrate animals in this unit
