audience & Market Considerations Cheap tablets targets the casual audience. Tablet market is declining. Goal is to maximize potential profit in a market that is shrinking. One of the challenges of tablet design is the fact the market is dwindling in favour of hybrid devices. Mobile tablets still have an audience amongst those who read books and watch videos, but higher end devices are starting to take over as the market matures. Amazon’s success with its cheap tablet suggests there is a market for budget tablets, and cheaper parts means profit could be maximized if costs are kept down.
