Objectives Define nonprogram revenue. Explain U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nonprogram revenue requirements. List and describe acceptable ways to assess compliance with nonprogram revenue.

Poll Do you sell nonprogram foods including, but not limited to, à la carte foods (e.g., milk; second entrees; Smart Snacks), catering (e.g., foods/beverages for school board meetings; foods for outside entities and programs), and/or adult meals (e.g., meals for teachers, parents, etc.)? Yes No

Nonprogram Revenue Adult meals Catering Meals/food and beverages supplied to another school district or program À la carte School food authority (SFA) fundraisers SFA-run school stores Any revenue from foods and beverages that is not part of a student reimbursable meal is nonprogram revenue.

USDA Requirements Revenue from nonprogram foods must accrue to the non-profit food service account. Revenue from reimbursable meals cannot subsidize the sale of nonprogram foods.
