TSUNAMIS Hey guys we are going to tell you about tsunamis . TSUNAMIS ARE A SERIES OF OCEAN WAVES CAUSED BY A UNDERWATER EARTH QUAKE.

About 80 percent of tsunamis happen with in the pacific ocean and it creates a Ring of fire.

The first wave of the tsunami is Usally not the strongest.

Tsunamis can travel at speed of about 500 miles or 805 kilometers An hour almost as fast as a jet plane. the states  in the us at greatest risk for tsunamis are Hawaii, Alaska, Washington, Oregon and California.

If caught by a tsunami wave ,it is better not to swim but rather to grab a floating object Tsunamis retain their energy  meaning they can travel across entire oceans with limted energy loss. Scientists can accurately estimate the time when a tsunami will arrive almost anywhere around the world  based on calutions using the depth of the water distances from one place to another and the time that the earthquake or other event occred

Hawaii tsunamis Hawaii is always The biggest tsunami In 2004 the Indian At great risk for a tsunami they get about 1per year and a severe one every 7 years That occurred in Hawaii  in 1946 the coast of Hilo island was a hit with 30 feet waves at 500 mph. Ocean tsunami was caused by an earthquake with the energy of 23,000 atomic bombs after the earthquake killer waves.

FACTS about tsunamis Only on very few Occasions a tsunami is cause by a giant meteor in the ocean. Tsunamis waves can be as huge as 100 feet. About 80% of tsunamis occur in the  Pacific Ocean's Ring of Fire. Tsunami is also commonly known as killer waves. The tsunami that occurred in December 2004 in the Indian Ocean is known to be the most powerful earthquake that has occurred till date.
