Light-field Microscopy with a Consumer Light-field Camera Supplementary Material In order to demonstrate the light-field capability of our system as well as its applications, the following slides shows several samples taken with the different systems. The inset on the top left of each picture represents the aperture of the system. The red point indicates the position inside this aperture from which the frame was extracted. Moving around the aperture enables to show the effect of parallax on the sample recorded with the different systems. Some of the meshes extracted from the depth maps are available in .coff format, please use Meshlab to view them.

Lytro Microscope Pins of a electronic component on a circuit board Retro-reflective material The light being reflected by the metallic part saturate the pixels and prevents good depth reconstruction. This material is illuminated with a incident light source placed at the right. The retro reflexion can be seen only for viewpoints that are also on the right. Even though it seems like the light is moving around, it is fixed. Only the viewpoint is changing. This shows that light-field acquisition could be used for the measurement of the reflective properties (a.k.a. BRDF) of materials at a microscopic scale
