Broccoli Facts Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family. Broccoli has been around for over 2,000 years!!!! Once broccoli is picked it won’t last long so it is often cooled with ice and brought to market quickly. Broccoli was first introduced to France in the 1500’s. The name came from the Italian word Brocco which means branch or arm.

Where an How of Broccoli In the world Broccoli is grown in Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica. In the U.S.A. Broccoli is grown in California, Texas, Maine, Arizona, and more.
