Basic Aim- Financial assistance to bereaved family of member doctor to overcome the crisis period. Difference between LIC, other insurance schemes-very small premium; low operating costs; disbursement only on death and no premium liability after 25 yrs, though benefit amount increases.. No medical exam, Promptest payment, Least formalities

Benefits of the scheme - Starts after one year of membership except in case of accidents, where benefit is extended even before 1 year -Premature Death, Tax benefits + -Contribute for 25 years only As the membership grows so increases the death claim benefit

Highlights IMA-MS SSS-Established in 1990 Founder Chairman- Dr Highlights IMA-MS SSS-Established in 1990 Founder Chairman- Dr. Kelkar Y G, Pune Effective Membership- 7200(285 died so far whose families have been paid) Goal- To reach number 10,000 (Minimum 500 members every year) Death Claim Benefit- 9,35,000/-lacs (from 2017) All the corpus fund is invested in Nationalised banks permitted by charity commissioner.

How does the scheme work How does the scheme work? Eligibility- Life member of IMA up to the age of 60 years complete (don’t wait!) Requirements 1. Duly completed application form 2.Age Proof e.g. Passport, PAN card, Birth cert., school/college leaving cert. 3. Cheque/DD of appropriate amount. Continued….

Passport sized photograph of member and his nominee No Medical Examination Required Out of FFC Rs.200/- per death, Rs. 130/- is paid to nominee and Rs. 70/- goes to Corpus. Interest on corpus takes care of FFC Payment after 25 years, as the member ceases to contribute.

PAYMENT STRUCTURE From 1/4/2017 Death Claim Payment Is IMMEDIATE. Age Group Admission Fee Advance Fraternity Contribution Annual Membership Fee (For 2 years) Total Up to 30 yrs. Complete Rs. 1000/- Rs. 8000/- Rs. 400/- Rs. 9,400/- Above 30 to 40 yrs. Complete Rs. 2000/- Rs. 10,400/- Above 40-50 yrs. Complete Rs. 3000/- Rs. 11,400/- Above 50-55 yrs. Rs.4000/- Rs. 12,400/- 55 yrs Complete to 60 yrs. Rs.5000/- Rs,8000/- Rs. 13,400/- Death Claim Payment Is IMMEDIATE. (Requirement – Death Certificate duly countersigned and attested by Local IMA Branch Secretary along with advance stamped receipt).

Schedule of FFC Payments Notice of Demand of FFC latest by 1st May To Pay- Latest by 31st May-FFC ( no late fees) 1st June to 31st July+ Rs. 100/- as late fees 1st Aug.to 30th Sept +Rs. 300/-as late fees Non Payment on 1st October- Automatic Deletion—but can be reinstated till next 3 years, with re-filling forms, extra payment etc. seniority preserved But apart form 1st line, none other should occur!!

National Social Security Scheme -Run on same basis as of State Social Security Scheme except for Age group and fees structure Distribution -Around 17,000 members all over India at present -This years death claim benefit was Rs. 10,73,000/-

Eligibility- Life member of IMA below 60 yrs age Must be a life member of IMA since last 3 years—this condition of 3 yrs is not there for doctors joining before 40 yrs of age. Requirements- Same as IMA MS SSS + Life-membership cert. from HQ

Present Scenario IMA-MS membership – 39,000 Effective SSS Membership – 7,064 National IMA Membership – 280,000 NSSS membership – 17,000 Pune IMA Membership - 4300 SSS Membership – 925 & NSSS 175 only So, a large gap, and hence big scope to enroll for both SSS…both together cover Rs 20 lacs as of now with premium as low as 6000/- after initial admission fees….

Dear Members No other scheme gives such financial benefit within such a short period. Present data reveals that the members who have joined the scheme in 1990 have paid not more than Rs. 25,000/- But the nominees are assured benefit return of Rs. 9,35,000/- (2017 on).— Quotes from annual report. -Estimated rise of 7-10% in Death Benefit claim every year -By paying meager Rs. 200/- , we can help families of our fellow colleagues.
