One sunny day Tortoise challenged Hare to a race One sunny day Tortoise challenged Hare to a race. All the forest animals came to watch. They wanted Tortoise to win. Ready, steady, go!

Zoom. Hare ran down the road very swiftly Zoom! Hare ran down the road very swiftly. He looked back at Tortoise and decided that he could stop for a rest. "How does he expect to win this race, walking along at that slow, slow pace?"

Next Hare stretched himself out under a tree, he fell asleep thinking, “I have plenty of time to sleep because that Tortoise is so slow."

Luckily for Tortoise, Hare fell asleep for a very long time Luckily for Tortoise, Hare fell asleep for a very long time. Tortoise continued to walk and walk.

Suddenly the lazy Hare woke up. Quickly, Hare jumped up and began to run, trying to catch up with Tortoise.

It was too late. Tortoise had taken the lead and was winning the race It was too late. Tortoise had taken the lead and was winning the race. All the animals were cheering. Tortoise never stopped until he passed the finish line.

After that, Hare always reminded himself, "Don't brag about your lightning pace, for Slow and Steady won the race!"
