I Have a Dream By Martin Luther King Jr.

About The Author Martin Luther King Jr.(1929-1968) an American Civil Right activist is known as the most effective Black leader in modern US history. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

About The Chapter I Have a Dream is an extract from Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech delivered to celebrate the 100th year of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.Through his speech he is demanding justice so far denied to the Negro.

1. He Represents The Cause Of The Blacks Even after 100 years when Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation , the negro is still not free. He is still languished in the corners of American society. Negroes were given a promise, through constitution and Declaration of Independence,to be given the equal rights of life, liberty and happiness but America failed to do so.

2 .Raises His Voice Against Injustice And Takes a Pledge Now it is the time when they should raise their voice against racial injustice But they should not get violent and should not hate their White brothers. They should continue to revolt until the bright day of justice emerges . They should take a pledge to march ahead.

3 .He Has A Dream He has a dream that one day injustice and oppression will be replaced by justice and freedom. He has a dream that one day freedom will ring from every village and hamlet, from every state and city.
