Presentation transcript:

Students will be able to simplify fractions and ratios (5-4). Objective: Students will be able to simplify fractions and ratios (5-4).

Vocabulary: Ratio Equivalent fractions Simplest form

To Simplify Fractions: Read all directions!!! Write the problem. Find the GCF for each #(numerator & denominator). Once you find the GCF, divide both the top # and bottom # by this. Write the final answer. If it is a ratio, keep same format.

To Find Equivalent Fractions: Read all directions!!!!!! Write problem. Multiply or divide the numerator and denominator by the same #. This will give you the missing #. Write final answer.
