What is ASL literature? Visual literature passed down from generation to generation and is produced by the Deaf culture through the act of storytelling.

Losing your hearing at different times in your life… Two Kinds of loss: Pre-Lingual Before you develop another language Age is often disputed but it is before a child has learned to speak and understand speech - generally before 18 months Post-Lingual After a language has been developed

Three Kinds of Hearing Loss Conductive Outer and Middle Ear Sensorineural Inner Ear Mixed Both Conductive and a Sensorineural HL Three Kinds of Hearing Loss

4 Degrees of Hearing Loss Mild Moderate Severe Profound 4 Degrees of Hearing Loss Mild is the lowest level of hearing loss – this person can’t hear whispers/soft sounds but can hear louder noises. Profound is the greatest level of hearing loss – this person can’t hear whispers or a live rock band!
