11-4 Exterior Angles of Triangles 10/4/17

Essential Question: What is the relationship between the exterior and interior angles of a triangle?

Vocabulary If you were to extend one side of a triangle, an exterior angle of a triangle is formed. In each picture, Angle 1 is an exterior angle of each triangle.

Vocabulary For each exterior angle of a triangle, the two interior angles on the opposite side are its remote interior angles.

Vocabulary The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle equals the sum of the measures of its two remote interior angles.
