List of 4 watercolor papers Line Shape Color Movement – water on the paper first

Instructions for the activities with the 4 pieces of watercolor paper You will listen to a song As you are listening to the song you will pick up the art media(tools) that you think fit the song Then listen to instructions

Quick Art History Lesson Kandinsky A trained musician Non-objective(objective) Russian painter who started in his 30’s.

Non-objective? After seeing only one example of a non- objective artist’s work, what is none objective to you?

Non-objective art defines a type of abstract art that is usually, but not always, geometric and aims to convey a sense of simplicity and purity

Piece in a Day Your goal is to complete a painting You can listen to your own music or the music that is playing in class Make a non-objective piece that represents what you were listening too Think about your choices: Color - Value/tone/lights and darks Line – starts and stops Shape – organic or geometric Space – between objects, overlapping Movement – how do your lines flow or not, connect

Exit Pass page 8 of your sketchbook under your bell work What is one thing you learned about today? What did you enjoy about class today? Who is your favorite artist? Why? If you do not have one what kind of art do you like (describe) and why?
