Isaiah 62:11, “Behold, Jehovah hath proclaimed unto the end of the earth, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.” Zechariah 9:9, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy king cometh unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.”

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday The Procession Into The City. Multitude met him with palm branches. John 12:12-13 Multitude spread their garments on the road. Matthew 21:8

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday Shouts Of The People As Jesus Entered. Matthew 21:8-9, “And the most part of the multitude spread their garments in the way; and others cut branches from the trees, and spread them in the way. And the multitudes that went before him, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed (is) he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” Mark 11:9-10, “And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, Hosanna; Blessed (is) he that cometh in the name of the Lord: Blessed (is) the kingdom that cometh, (the kingdom) of our father David: Hosanna in the highest.”

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday Shouts Of The People As Jesus Entered. Luke 19:37-38, “the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen; saying, Blessed (is) the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.” John 12:13, “took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed (is) he that cometh in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.” Hosanna in Hebrew means “save we pray.” cf. Psalms 118:25

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday Shouts Of The People As Jesus Entered Reflect Misunderstanding Of The Nature Of The Kingdom. Earlier some had tried to force Jesus to become a king, but He refused. John 6:15 My kingdom was not of this world. To the Pharisees. Luke 17:20-21 To Pilate. John 18:36 Paul made it clear that the kingdom was spiritual, not physical. Romans 14:17; 1 Corinthians 15:50

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday The Prophecy. Luke 19:41-44, “And when he drew nigh, he saw the city and wept over it, saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, when thine enemies shall cast up a bank about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall dash thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday “Who Is This?” Matthew 21:10-11, “And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, Who is this? And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.” Matthew 21:14-15, “And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children that were crying in the temple and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were moved with indignation.”

Triumphant Entry Into Jerusalem – Sunday Return to Bethany. Mark 11:11, “And he entered into Jerusalem, into the temple; and when he had looked round about upon all things, it being now eventide, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.”

Conclusion What a triumphant entry it will be when Jesus returns! To offer eternal salvation for those who believe! Hebrews 9:27-28 There’s A Great Day Coming! A day of salvation for those who eagerly await Him. For others, it will be a day of condemnation and destruction. 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9
