The gospel is the power of god for salvation God’s kingdom work The gospel is the power of god for salvation

Colossians 3:1-7 We always thank god, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints,

Colossians 3:1-7 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. Of this you have heard before in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing –

Colossians 3:1-7 as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth, just as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant.

3 things about the gospel The gospel is truth The gospel is changing people The gospel is increasing and bearing fruit all over the world - Rom. 1:16 the gospel is the power of God

What the NT says about God’s kingdom “The kingdom of god is like a mustard seed…it is the smallest of seeds, but when it has grown…it becomes a tree, and the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.” Mt. 13:31-32

What the NT says about God’s kingdom “Behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb…

What the NT says about God’s kingdom crying out with a loud voice, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb! And all the angels and living creatures fell down and worshiped God saying:

What the NT says about God’s kingdom “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever!” Rev. 7:9-12

Application are we thinking regularly about the incredible hope God has stored up for us in Christ? and is that leading us to love those around us and display our faith in our actions and words?

application do we want to be part of seeing people come to Christ? note the last thing Paul said in Colossians: we always thank God…since we heard about your faith.
