How can minerals effect batteries to create a stronger and longer-lasting charge By: Sam G and Sathvik R

What minerals are in batteries?

Lead, Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese, Lithium, and lots more

What Batteries Have Minerals?

A lot!

How do Minerals effect these Batteries?

How Does the mineral Lithium Effect Batteries? Lithium Ion batteries are one of the most popular rechargeable batteries. Because of the amount of the mineral lithium in the battery is large. It can hold the most amount of battery power per space than a lot of other batteries. It will give you full power even if it has been stored for a awhile.

Who does the mineral Cadmium effect batteries NI-Cd batteries are so good because if the mineral Cadmium that can produce a strong charge. The mineral helps the battery preform well at low temperatures. They are an older version of lithium ion batteries and have tons of similarities.

How does the mineral Alkaline effect Batteries Alkaline batteries are so good because of the reaction between minerals zinc and manganese. The reaction forms an incredible amount of energy density. They have an amazing long lasting life cycle.

How does the mineral Aluminum effect batteries Al–air batteries produce electricity from the reaction of Oxygen in the air with the mineral aluminium. They have one of the highest energy distrubution of all batteries, but they are not widely used because of the cost. An electric vehicle with aluminum batteries has the potential for up to eight times the power of a lithium ion battery

How does the mineral Mercury effect batteries A mercury battery is a non-rechargeable battery. The Mineral Mercury helps in the creation of a reaction between mercuric oxide and zinc electrodes. They are used in small objects like watches and cameras.

How does the mineral potassium effect batteries A potassium-ion battery is a type of battery used from minerals in potassium. The device uses potassium compound for its high electrochemical stability. The potassium battery has certain advantages over similar lithium batteries: the cell design is simple and both the material and the fabrication procedure are cheaper.

How does sodium and sulfur effect batteries. A sodium–sulfur battery is a battery constructed from minerals in liquid sodium. This type of battery has a high energy distribution and a long cycle life However, because of the operating temperatures of 300 to 350 °C the battery is primarily suitable for large-scale stationary energy storage applications.

How does minerals in silver and calcium effect batteries Silver Calcium alloy batteries are a type of lead acid battery with grids made from minerals in lead-calcium-silver alloy. They stand out for its resistance to corrosion and the destructive effects of high temperatures.
