CYPRESS CITY

HOW IT ALL BEGAN My City started long time ago, in 1905. It was called Cypress city because lots of these trees were planted at that time. Actually, When My great great great grandpa Thomas Gil founded it, My great great great grandma Mary was selling little cypress bushes to people. It started when craftsmen, traders, priests, soldiers and officials came together and built houses. While they were building houses, their women stayed at home raising their kids. My city survived and prospered because the farmers had to produce more food and sell them on the market places. In 1950 there was a tragic earthquake that killed lots of people. Fortunately, When the earthquake happened, my family was eating in a shelter my great great father built.

In 1960 My grandpa bought a big House, 3 blocks down from downtown, in front of the famous City bank. When my father bought the house, My older brother was studying in the school, in 5th grade. In 1980’s part of the city was distroyed by a tornado. When the tornado passed, My mom was going to the hospital: She was going to have a baby: Me!!!!! Thank god my house was not destroyed

From 1990’s and 2000’s I remembered a big storm: It was rainy with lightnings and thunders. When the storm passed Me and my friends were telling terror stories at home. I was really frightening!!!!
