Explain how these changes in norther European society affected northern Europe art. Note that a move from a medieval art style to a more modern style occurred more slowly in northern Europe than in Italy. Discuss the development of oil painting. Discuss the precision and color that mark the works of Jan Van Eyck. Identify the contributions of Rogier van der Weyden. Describe differences in paintings done by Rogier and van Eyck.
