Monarch Definition: A ruler of a kingdom or empire.   Sentence: He would become the city's greatest monarch. This picture shows a picture of a monarch, whom is Hammurabi.

Hammurabi's Code Definition: A set of 282 laws that dealt with almost every part or daily life. Sentence: Hammurabi's code was important not only for how thorough it was, but also because it was written down for all to see. The picture above shows Hammurabi's code.

Chariot Definition: A wheeled, horse-drawn cart used in battle. Sentence: The chariots allowed Hittite soldiers to move quickly around a battlefield and fire arrows at their enemy. This picture above, shows the Hittites using a chariot for battle.

Alphabet Definition: A set of letters that can be combined to form words. Sentence: In fact, the alphabet we use for English language is based on the Phoenicians', as modified by later civilizations.   This is the Phoenician alphabet.
