Books “What’s so amazing about grace” by Philip Yancey “Grace” by Max Lucado

John 8:2–9 NLT “But early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them. As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd. ‘Teacher,’ they said to Jesus, ‘this woman was caught in the act of adultery. The Law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?’ They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, ‘All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!’ Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one.”

John 8:2–9 NLT

Grace! The God who stoops. Satan is our accuser Jesus stoops – Philippians 2:5-7 Jesus defends us – Romans 8:33-34 Satan is our accuser Satan’s condemnation vs. the Holy Spirit’s conviction What is the fruit of Grace?

Questions for reflection Will you listen to Satan’s accusations? Or will you believe what Jesus says about you?

Understanding Grace God’s grace is not limited by our understanding and treatment of it. Grace is available to everyone. A changed heart is evidence of God’s grace on the move.

Understanding Grace God loves each of us enough to stoop to our level and even below. Satan’s goal is to accuse and destroy us. God stands in our defense every moment of every day. Romans 8:34 MSG “The One who died for us—who was raised to life for us!—is in the presence of God at this very moment sticking up for us.”
