Budget Highlights 2017-18 District-wide facilities upgrades and maintenance Safety and security Replace pocket lunch tables at one elementary school Replace 1 out-of-date bus – 24 passenger (#6) 2 way radios Security camera upgrades Security alarm system upgrades

Why 2%? FLAT State aid = NO increase in REVENUE Expenditures continue to rise Increases beyond our control: Anticipate increase in medical benefits alone = 265k Salaries/costs of programs/supplies/out of district tuition Increases under district control All building administrators cut budgets by 10%

How Are We Saving? Paper-cut: System for tracking printing in an effort to reduce printing costs Share services Educational Data Services Inc. - EDS Cooperative bidding management program Alliance for Competitive Energy Services - ACES Electric & gas consortium Educational Services Commission of NJ – ESCNJ formerly Mercer County Regional Services Cooperative (MRESC) Purchasing consortium Camden County Education Services Commission (CCESC) Services consortium

2% Builds a Revenue Base

Impact on the Haddon Township Taxpayer Increase in tax levy – General Fund: .04231 cents per $100 of assessed value. For a home assessed at $224,920, this is a total increase of $95.16 per year. Increase in tax levy – Debt Service Fund: .01531 cents per $100 of assessed value. For a home assessed at $224,920, this is a total increase of $34.43 per year.

Impact on the Haddon Township Taxpayer Increase in tax levy - General Fund $450,496 Increase in tax levy - Debt $184,454 Total tax levy increase $634,950 2016 Ratables $1,256,876,026 The 2017-18 proposed budget represents . . . an increase of .05762 cents per $100 of assessed value. For a home assessed at $224,920, this is an increase of $129.59 per year. ($224,920/$100) x $0.05762 = $129.59
