Days of Military Glory in Russia 13.12.1995 State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation issued a law « The Days of military glory of Russia». The history of Russia is rich with significant events. In all centuries heroism, courage of soldiers of Russia, power and glory of the Russian weapon were an integral part of greatness of the Russian state. Besides military victories there are events, worthy to be immortalized in national memory.

Sinop sea battle The defeat of the Turkish squadron by Russian Black Sea Fleet 30th November 1853, under the command of Vice-admiral Pavel Nakhimov. The battle took place in the harbour town of Sinop (about 300 km from Sevastopol) on the Black Sea coast of Turkey. The Turkish squadron was defeated within a few hours.

Day of Victory On May 9 Russia celebrated a national holiday - Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, in which the Soviet people fought for freedom and independence of their homeland against Nazi Germany and its allies. The Great Patriotic War is the most important and crucial part of the Second World War of 1939-1945.

Defenders of the Fatherland Day In 1922, this date has been officially declared the Day of the Red Army. Later, on February 23 is celebrated annually in the Soviet Union as a national holiday - Day of the Soviet Army and Navy. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the date was renamed in the Day of Defender of the Fatherland.

Battle of Moscow Battle for Moscow in 1941-1942 began in the night of 5th December to 6th. Across the front of a powerful offensive undertaken. The beginning of the Battle of Moscow and the active Soviet offensive came was a surprise to the Nazis. As a result, the enemy was driven back to 120 - 150 km from the capital. In December released Tver and Kaluga. But crucial Battle of Moscow is a refutation of the myth of the invincibility of the Wehrmacht troops. Nazi troops suffered serious losses for the first time.

Battle of Gangut Naval battle (9.08.1714) – main page of history of the Russian fleet. It was the first naval victory over the Swedish fleet, which up to that time had never known defeat.

Battle of Tendra This was a battle 11 September, 1790 between the Russians and the Turks. Brilliant victory of the Russian fleet has provided a breakthrough to Ishmael.

Capture of fortress Izmail Russian victory was of great importance for the further course of the war between the Russians and the Turks 24th of September 1790.

The battle of Borodino The Borodino battle 8th September 1812 is one of the most bloody battles of the 19th century. By estimates of cumulative losses, each hour from 2,5 to 8,5 thousand people, and every minute — a company of soldiers in the field perished. Some divisions have lost up to 80% of structure.

The battle of Kulikova This fight 21 September, 1380 depicts the Grand Prince Donskov ' s victory over his mortal enemy Mamaia at the battle of Kulikova.

Battle of Stalingrad The major battle July 17, 1942 - February 2, 1943 between the Soviet troops and the forces of the Axis counties, which developed in the Stalingrad City, and also at the Don and Volga rivers during the Great Patriotic War. The victory of the Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad was a great influence on the further course of the Second World War. It has intensified the fight against the Nazis across Europe. As a result of this victory, the German side has ceased to dominate.

The liberation of Moscow from Polish invaders Won a great historic victory 7 Novenber, 1612 by Minin and Pozharsky in Russia was a symbol of selfless service to the Fatherland, its national heroes.

Battle of Kursk The Great Battle of Kursk in its scope, attracted forces and means, tension, the results of the military and political consequences is one of the largest battles of the Second World War. It lasted 50 incredibly difficult days and nights and was a set of strategic defensive (5-23 July), and Offensive (12 July - 23 August) operations in World War II, carried out by the Red Army in the Kursk salient to disrupt a major offensive of the German troops and strategic defeat the enemy group.

The Great Battle on ice It was a battle April 18, 1242 between Russians and Germans on a Chudskoye lake(Lake Peipus ). This victory strengthened the morale of the Russian people, gave hope to the success of the fight against foreign invaders. Alexander Nevsky was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church canonized.
