Section A READING
Section A Reading Comprehension You are advised to spend your time as follows: 10 minutes reading 50 minutes answering the questions To help further: If it is a 10 mark question, spend about 12 mins on the question. If it is 5 marks, spend about 7 mins on the question.

Read the question carefully. If it says ‘list’, then LIST. Basically listing in sentences. Only explain if you need to – if it says ‘Explain why or how’. Make sure you use the bullet points to help you with your answer. Answer all the questions.
Answering the questions. Use the words from the question in your opening sentence. For example if it says: How does the writer make these lines tense and dramatic? You answer: The writer makes these lines tense and dramatic by using the words…………..
Section B WRITING
Number each question!
Creative prose writing. Section B – You will choose 1 title from four. Decide which title best suits your narrative you practised in class. 5 minutes planning 35 minutes writing 5 minutes checking
Put the title at the top of your page. Plan Approximately 6 paragraphs Opening , 4 main paragraphs, closing Write 2 sides of answer booklet 6/7 sentences per paragraph (but openings and closing may be shorter) RANGE of sentence types. SIMPLE, COMPOUND, COMPLEX
