Teachers Plunge into Planetary Science Teachers Plunge into Planetary Science! 2012 Earth and Space Science Leadership Academy and Field Trip Petrified Forest NP, AZ Meteor Crater, AZ Upheaval Dome, UT The School of Earth and Space Exploration (SESE) at Arizona State University (ASU) partnered with NASA and the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) to lead an educator conference at ASU on June 18-22, 2012 with 23 teachers from AZ, NM, CA, and NY Teachers in the Earth and Space Science Leadership Academy participated in five days of intensive content immersion in the geosciences and planetary sciences lead by NASA researchers at ASU and from NASA Johnson Space Center An optional geologic field trip was held after the conference from June 22-26, 2012 visiting sites in southern Utah and northern Arizona Teachers visited Lowell Planetarium, Canyonlands National Park (Upheaval Dome), Arches National Park, Canyon de Chelly, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest National Park, and Meteor Crater Visit the Academy and field trip image galleries at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/82075938@N06/ Arches NP, UT July 12, 2012
