Make a Plan! Who are the User in your org? What do they need access to in order to complete their work?

Who are the members of your organization? Questions to ask yourself. Describe their work  Publishing  Geocoding  Analysis  Data collector  How is any created content shared?  Public?  Org?  Private?  What Apps do they use?  Pro  Navigator  Business Analyst Web App  What Data do they need access to?  Public Data  Data-living atlas  Authoritative organization data  Specific Web App to perform tasks 

Let’s go through our user personas Demo Prep Lila – GIS Intern and Field Collector Henry – GIS analyst  Vivian – GIS Water Content Manager  Joe - City Manager  Rebecca - County GIS Coordinator Edits data created by Analyst  Creates vector data for field collection (mostly tree inventory)  Creates content and uses the analysis services  Can shared view content and apps   ArcGIS Online Administration Guru All projects and data must be approved before making it public Produces and shares content with specific work groups QA/QCs content moves content from creation group to production group  No ability to create content  Responsible for inviting all new employees and contractors into County ArcGIS Online Organization  Workflows (no feature services or tile services)  Creates basemaps in county's local projections  Responsible for the overall look and feel of organization  Uses ArcGIS Online to learn and test Responsible for ensuring that ArcGIS Online accounts and content within water department are maintained  Responsible for training department managers to administer users and content. What do your members need access to in order to complete their work? Each User Considerations Groups:  Used to manage access to content Roles:  Control capabilities that users have access to  Credits:  Credit use can be managed by giving access to a capability (privileges and roles) Amount of expenditure per user can be managed by credit budgeting.  Licenses: What other software does the user need access to?

Is there more than one person who will administer members (departmental structure?) Is the person who styles the organization the same person who will manage the members? Will there be a content manager? What kind of reporting is needed about the members in your organization?
