24th DURING THE YEAR Cycle B SUNDAY Let us follow Jesus that "delivers himself" on the way to the cross (T. L. de Victoria)

Beginning of the 2nd PART of the Gospel of MARK The miracles of the beginning are for us to recognize Jesus as the savior Messiah. Now, in the 2nd part, we must recognize Him as the suffering Messiah Images of the ancient Caesarea Philippi, in the Jordan springs

Caesarea Philippi, ancient place of worship to the Greek and Roman gods Here they confess Jesus as the MESSIAH, and He tells them that He must suffer

Mk 8: 27-35 And Jesus went on with his disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi.

Jesus makes a stop, to go into northern Israel, with only the disciples If we identify with the Gospel of Mark, we now take a turn in the way with Jesus

And on the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am And on the way he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?" And they told him, "John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets."

The Apostles asked: who is this? (Mk 4:41) Various Jordan waterfalls Look at the others as we are, is characteristic of humans, looking at them as they are, it is proper to the children of God So far the Apostles wondered who Jesus was, and He forced silence those who knew it The Apostles asked: who is this? (Mk 4:41) Do not click He cast out many demons and He was not permitting the demons to speak, because they knew who He was (Mk 1:34) Various Jordan waterfalls

And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am And he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered him, "You are the Christ."

Jesus asks the disciples, and us: Who anm I to you? To discover me, is to discover me Do not click Decorations of the Temple for the god Bread

And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him And he strictly charged them to tell no one about him. And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again.

We will be able to die, if we can LIVE Because He is God, He goes to death with FREEDOM We will be able to die, if we can LIVE Ruins of the ancient Caesarea, in the past

And he said this plainly.

We have to understand where is the MAINSTREAM of LIFE The final step depends on the previous ones

And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man."

We are afraid when we “think like men do” God takes us by his ways

And he called to him the crowd with his disciples and said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.

Do not withhold life, let it run Remains of the Roman city At the end we will find it intact

Lord, grant us to recognize You as we do the same way that led You to total LOVE
