Super Lutein Plus Functionality information Ingredient Functionality Details Daily intake EPA & DHA containing oil Helps improve blood triglycerides level and blood circulation (announced) Physiological actions of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid): it reduces triglycerides in the blood, increases good cholesterol (HDL), and decreases bad cholesterol (LDL). Thus it can prevent atherosclerosis, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke; it also prevents angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and cerebral infarction caused by blood clots. EPA and DHA combined 0.5~2 g/day Helps improve dry eyes (individually certified, physiological level 2) DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is part of the fatty acids of phospholipids in the gray matter and neurites of the brain and an important component of the brain, nerve tissues, and retina of the eye. EPA and DHA combined 0.6~1g/day Lutein Helps maintain the density of macular pigments that can be reduced by aging and maintain eye health For good eye health, the macula should be healthy. The macula is degenerated as it is exposed more and more to light, which means that the vision is failing. The macular is in the center of the area where the visual cells are concentrated and the image is focused on the retina, and its major component is lutein. As a plant extract with strong anti-oxidative function, lutein acts like the natural sunglasses of the eye and maintains the density of pigments that can be reduced by aging due to oxidation, helping maintain eye health. 10 ~ 20mg/day - 02 -

Super Lutein Plus Functional ingredients ■ What is lutein? ■  It is an orange-colored carotenoid extracted from marigold (Tagetes erecta) flower. It is a component of the retina and the macula that is responsible for the center vision of the eye, which helps maintain the density of macular pigments that can be reduced by aging; thus maintaining eye health.  Lutein is found in fruits and green leafy vegetables and should be ingested because it is not synthesized in the body.  Lutein is an important pigment in the macula part of the retina. It protects the lens and the retina from strong blue light (sun) and protects against lenticular opacity and cell damage caused by harmful oxygen. ■ Efficacy of lutein! ■ ☞ Lutein, which is present mainly in the retina and the macula, is an antioxidant that can prevent eye disorders such as cataract and age-related macular degeneration due to the lack of lutein and prevent cell damages due to reactive oxygen species that can cause various diseases including cancer. ☞ Nowadays, the most talked about eye disease is age-related macular degeneration. - The macula, which is in the innermost area of the retina, plays an important role in distinguishing the color of the object. - Age-related macular degeneration is a major cause of irreversible blindness. ☞ Special supplements with high amounts of lutein have shown excellent effects in cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, presbyopia, eye fatigue, and watery or blear eye. In addition to eye health, lutein can be helpful in preventing atherosclerosis and cancers. - 03 -

Super Lutein Plus Functional ingredients ■ What is omega-3 EPA & DHA? ■ Omega-3 fatty acids are very effective in relieving the dry eye syndrome. According to “Ophthalmology,” a highly prestigious journal, the group taking omega-3 (EPA 180㎎, DHA 120㎎) twice a day for 30 days showed decreased tear clearance and increased tear secretion and greatly alleviated the dry eye syndrome, compared to the control group. The results above are attributed to the actions of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA, and DHA. In particular, DHA, as a major component of the retina, helps maintain strong tear film; thus preventing the decrease of tear secretion. Recently, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety acknowledged that omega-3 fatty acids can “help maintain eye health by improving dry eyes (physiological level 2).” 1) EPA 2) DHA Physiological actions of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid): It reduces triglycerides in the blood, increases good cholesterol (HDL), and decreases bad cholesterol (LDL). Thus it can prevent atherosclerosis, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke; it also prevents angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, and cerebral infarction caused by blood clots. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid): It is largely contained in plant plankton (phytoplankton), also known as the major component of the brain, nerve tissues, and retinal tissues. As a fatty acid component in brain cells and tissues, it helps in the brain development of infants and children and helps prevent senile dementia. - 04 -
