3-11-2016 Agenda • 1 - Play Button redo, tutorial What is ActionScript 3-11-2016 Agenda • 1 - Play Button redo, tutorial What is ActionScript? Scripting language similar to JavaScript. Adds functionality to your Flash work (ex: when you push a button, it takes you somewhere!) 2 - Text animation - make it exciting (dynamic!), use a simple font, make sure it is readable check the default options on text > make sure it is read only classic text has been working well too 3 - Work on animated poem Graded progress check next week DUE DATE 3/31 (?)

TIPS for your project Intro / Credits page - (a good place to start…) TIPS for your project Intro / Credits page - (a good place to start…) Musician/poet (ex: Lyrics by _____ ) Yourself! (ex: Animation by _____) Please animate the intro and make it an interesting introduction to the rest of your animation • Timing! 24 frames per second! - Make sure your typography is readable • Spend time creating sophisticated “character” drawings and scenery • Use layers to stay organized. • Use only one Flash File for this project (use scenes if needed, but remember sound will not play through scenes) • use symbols and motion tweens -- in addition to other flash techniques we have learned in class • make sure it illustrates the song in a visually and aesthetically pleasing way • thoughtful composition of elements on the stage. Make sure you are using space on the stage in an interesting and dynamic way • has dynamic but readable text • at least (approx) 1200 frames long or more (at 24 frames per second, this is about a minute). Of course, you can always make it longer if you would like...
