Key word NEP: New economic policy. Policy of the Communist party from 1921 under Lenin. Went against communist ideals as promoted capitalism and making people rich as Allowed peasants to sell any surplus food they produced to make profit. (b) Factories which had less than 20 workers were given back to their owners. Left wing members of the communist party wanted to end the NEP and move faster towards communism (that included Trotsky, Zinoviev and Kamenev) whilst the right wing supported NEP under Bukharin and wanted to move slower towards Communism.
