Regional Economic Development in China China the most populous country in the world with 541 million people in 1949, and the number of population had been increased to 1,311 million people in 2006 significant economic changes have been happening in this period of time like a miracle. Three phases of China’s economic (Zhao, 1990) China’s economic can be divided into three phases by speed of economic growth. The first phases ( 1949–1956 ) the average annual economic growth rate was 16.8% Huge growth in industrialization Second phases ( 1957-1978 ) the average annual economic growth rate was 6.36% Great leap forward (heavy industry)

The third phases ( 1979-2006 ) the average annual economic growth rate was around 7% China has opened the country and stimulate economic policies

Development of China’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Before 1990, China’s telecommunication sector was lack of development. Starting in 1949, there are only 193,000 telephones for the over 500 million people. And all distribute in “urban” area Liu identifies as a little as 0.8% of total national investment going to the telecommunications sector in 1953 – 1957. and there was only 0.0043% of people in China that subscribing to telephone service in 1980. after that there was rapid increase in telecommunication sector.
