Learning Obedience Hebrews 5 :7-9 Matt. 26 :36-44

“Learn” Acquiring knowledge of something previously unknown or ability to do something not done before This was not the way Jesus “learned” “to learn by use and practice, to acquire the habit of, be accustomed to” (Vine)

What Did Jesus Learn? Obedience Is Not: Doing own will Many accept truth as long as it is what they want to believe Doing what is enjoyable Always fair Luke 23:40,41

What Did Jesus Learn? Obedience: May mean being alone Matt. 26:56, 58, 64-75; 27:46 Demands self-denial Matt. 26:39, 42

Jesus Learned Obedience Expects same of us: Hebrews 5:9
