General information about MM 060 Developed between 1985 and 1989 May be used as basis for further inspection Questionnaire about Aalto / Lecture room R5 answered 26.04.2017 Number of respondents = 32

Outcome of the questionnaire Only the “Yes, often” –answers are considered Shadowed area works as a reference, includes answers from 7 offices and 2 schools without known indoor climate problems Black line illustrates a workplace that may have ventilation problems

The most bothering problems Environment The most bothering problems Noise 65,6% (often 9,4%) Stuffy/bad air 62,5% (often 9,4%) Room temperature too low 62,5% (often 6,3%) Draught 58,1% (often 9,7%) Varying room temperature 56,3% (often 6,3%)

Symptoms Difficulties concentrating 81,3% (often 25%) Irritated, stuffy or runny nose 65,6% (often 3,1%) Fatigue 62,5% (often 12,5%) Feeling heavy-headed 61,3% (often 12,9%) Headache 59,4% (often 12,5%)

What’s left out the results Background factors Home conditions Active / passive smoking Time spent outdoors Diseases / allergies Time spent at school Only the compulsory lessons/exercises vs studying/working from 9 to 5 in the building Additional questions about school environment (school yard, furnishing, etc.)

Conclusions Compared to the reference answers, there are no problems with the indoor air quality 30/32 feel comfortable at school Of which 19 answered often and 11 sometimes 16% of the symptoms are believed to be caused by the indoor air Noise is the most bothering problem - probably caused by other people in the same room rather than bad insulation
