Scopus (Elsevier) Coverage Scopus is a large abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature with metrics tools that track, analyze and visualize research  Contains 20,500 journals from 500 publishers plus more than 49 million records – 78% with abstracts; over 5.3 million conference papers Some of the journal titles and full-text articles are available from the OARE Content page Most of the conference papers will be available directly from Scopus 08 August 2017

Opening OARE Click on the ACCESS THE CONTENT link. This is the overall OARE homepage where you can log-in or register or browse for journal titles and Abstracts. Note that even no-registered institutions can view Journal titles and abstracts but access to full-text and downloading requires registration and logging in. 08 August 2017

From the Access the Content page, click on Log in. 08 August 2017

Enter the OARE USER NAME and PASSWORD in the appropriate boxes, change the language of the portal (if necessary), then click on the Login button, 08 August 2017

From the Access the Content page, click on Log in. Click on the OARE logo to open the program. All the programs your institution is registered for are listed. Login to any of the other programs by returning to this page (use the R4L Portal – Application tab at the top of the web browser). To open another program, click on the specific logo. Your OARE username and password will grant access to the other programs (and ditto for an institution’s AGORA, ARDI or HINARI username and passwords). 08 August 2017

Click on Search inside OARE full-text… to access this database and article searching tool. 08 August 2017

Once the Browse databases list opens, click on Scopus (Elsevier). Note: For some countries, the publisher does not to grant access to this resource. SCOPUS covers all of the scientific topics included in OARE and also covers the subjects of the other R4L programmes. It is updated daily and includes over 29 million abstracts from 15,000 peer-reviewed titles/4,000 publishers. Note that the publishers may not offer access to some countries and institutions. 08 August 2017

Scopus Search Tool In the initial Article title, Abstract, Keywords search page, enter search for ground water AND heavy metals AND mining. Note that a search can be done by Documents, Authors, Affiliation plus an Advanced option. Note that searches can be limited to Authors, First author, Source title, Article title, Keywords and Affiliation plus Date range and Document type. 08 August 2017
