VI International conference “International conference “Architecture and landscape – base of sustainable development of cities” September, 12–14, 2016 The International conference «Megacities 2050: environmental consequences of urbanization» was held at the Agrarian-Technological Institute of RUDN, September, 12-14. The conference was attended by specialists in the field of ecology, soil science, landscape design and sustainable development from Italy, Netherlands, USA and leading Russian universities, institutions, organizations in the field of environmental design, landscaping and green management. The conference was also attended by the leading highly-cited scientist, Nobel Peace Prize laureate, professor of the Tuschia University (Italy) Riccardo Valentini. Conference materials were published in WoS (Springer).

Students contest workshop «European traditions in urban planning and design» 7.11.2016 г. Students contest “European traditions in urban planning and design” was held on the bases of the Department. The purpose of the Students contest was to study the ways to develop the Sosenskoye urban territory of Moscow TiNAO district. In the contest students from the leading universities and colleges of Moscow participated.

The round table «Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs» 11-12.11. 2016 г. From 11 to 12 November 2016, an international round table: "Studying megacities in EU: developing joined educational programs" was held on the basis of the the Agrarian-Technological Institute in cooperation with the Department for International Scientific and Educational Cooperation of the RUDN University of Russia within the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet project. There were 50 participants on the round table. The reports were presented by coordinators and participants of international educational programs from Russia, Netherlands, Italy and China. Within the framework of the round table, the prospects of cooperation of the RUDN with foreign partners in the scientific and educational spheres were discussed. One of the event tasks was to create an international consortium to participate in the project Erasmus + Capacity Building.

The round table «Technologies and art of landscape architecture: adapting European experience» (Green economy and green infrastructure for sustainable urban development) February, 3-14, 2017 From 3 to 14 February 2017 on the basis of the Department held a round table «Technologies and art of landscape architecture: adapting European experience» (Green economy and green infrastructure for sustainable urban development). The purpose of the round table was to create a platform for discussion, coordination and interaction of various target groups interested in sustainable development of the cities – politics, science and business. During the round table the prospects for interaction between domestic and foreign companies, profile universities and city authorities were discussed to introduce new 'green' technologies for sustainable development of new urban areas and, above all, of New Moscow.

SUITMA 9 International congress «Urbanization as a threat and opportunity for soil functions and ecosystem services», May, 22-26, 2017 SUITMA 9 International congress «Urbanization as a threat and opportunity for soil functions and ecosystem services» was organized by the RUDN University in Moscow from 22.05.2017 to 26.05.2017. The scientific section "Urbanization and Sustainable Development of European Cities" was organized at the congress. The international congress was attended by 214 scientists from 25 countries. Congress materials were published in WoS (Springer) and in the special issues of Scopus journals: Journal of Soils and Sediments (IF=2.0; Q1), Journal of Environmental Quality (IF=2.5; Q1) and Eurasian Soil Science (IF=0.8; Q2).

Educational programs Landscape architecture Baccalaureate Master’s program Specialization «Modern landscape architecture and urban design Master’s program Specialization «Management and design of urban green infrastructure» Russian-Italian students’ groups (up to 15 students per year) The 1st year– PFUR (2 semester), 2nd – UNITUS (1st semester studying + 2nd semester for studying and thesis preparation) Diploma is defended in PFUR and UNITUS (or in front of a mixed committee) In result Two diplomas are obtained: MS in Landscape architecture (RF) and MS of Forest and Environmental Sciences (Italy) Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA project master students are provided with grants.

International summer school «Monitoring, Modeling and Managing Urban Soils» 18-21.05.2017 In May 2017 was organized the first International summer school by the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) and the City University of New York (CUNY). The joint educational program (summer school) "Monitoring, Modeling and Managing Urban Soils" will be held annually in Moscow. The school attended by young scientists from Russia, USA, France, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, China, Pakistan, Mauritius.

International summer school «Monitoring, modeling and managing urban soils and green infrastructure» » June 14-27, 2018 The 3MUGIS School is organized by the Russian Peoples Friendship University (Moscow, Russia) in cooperation with the International Union of Soil Science (IUSS) and the Urban Soil Institute (New York, USA). The expanded format and themes of the 3MUGIS school will be able to cover a wide range of sustainable development problems for megacities and attract more participants.

Landscape architecture and design studio of RUDN Landscape architecture and design studio of RUDN University was organized in 2011. Landscape architecture and design studio is the self-regulatory organization (SRO) for survey and design work in engineering accomplishment.

International Soil Symposium in New York, November, 29 - December, 01, 2017 The RUDN University in cooperation with the City University of New York (CUNY) will organize the International Annual Soil Symposium in 2017, which will be held from November 29 to December 1 in New York City. The Symposium in 2017 will be aimed to solve problems in the field of urban soils and sustainable development of urban ecosystems. The symposium program will pay special attention to the recycling of municipal waste, restoration of soil areas, urban agriculture and the development of green urban infrastructure. The participants of the Symposium will be the world's leading scientists in the field of sustainable development of urban ecosystems, representatives of the city administration as well as politicians.
