Srila Prabhupada’s Journey

ISKCON 50

Welcome

Welcome

“Make Mind Your Friend: Gain the Highest Happiness” Based on the Teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam

ISKCON Founder Acharya

Teachings based on BG & SB (Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya) “Ripened Fruit of Vedic Tree” “Essence of Vedas”

Yoga, Soul, Karma, Destinations, SPG

Who am I ?

What are we (Spiritual or Material beings)? Super soul Soul Material – subtle (body)* Ego Intelligence Mind Material – gross/physical* Senses Body Body Senses Intelligence Ego Mind Soul (we are a sprit soul, live in a body) * Can be spiritualised

We identify ourselves with… Nationality Race Religion Appearance Names Profession/job title Political Parties Education Wealth Property Family Choice Values Phones

Identify Crisis

BG C15: The Yoga of the Supreme Person mamaivamso jiva-loke jiva-bhutah sanatanah manah-sasthanindriyani prakrti-sthani karsati The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal, fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.

Sat-Cit-Ananda – eternal, conscious, and blissful Like Krishna, we are also sct-cit-ananda beings We are qualitatively same, but minute in quantity By recognizing our identity and redefining our activity, we revolutionize our destiny. Gold particle GOLD

Living entities Struggle (senses and mind)

Mind is like a spoiled child (holds your happiness hostage and demands that its desires be fulfilled)

16 Basic Desires Power Wealth/Saving Honor Status Romance Independence Curiosity Acceptance Order Wealth/Saving Honor Idealism Social Contact Family Status Vengeance Romance Eating Physical Activity Tranquility

Needs Fulfiled in 3 Different Modes of Material Nature Goodness Passion Ignorance

Mind Desires are like Waves (Endless,…. Uncontrolled) Tsunami

Hiranyakashipu: Ruler of 3 lokas with uncontrolled mind

Mind is Friend or Enemy ? A chariot with uncontrolled horses, Safe? Mind is enemy if it is driven by unwanted desires of senses.

How to go beyond Modes of Material Nature "Purity of speech, of the mind, of the senses, and a compassionate heart are needed by one who desires to rise to the divine platform."

Regulated Mind is Friend Bg 6: Sankhya/Dhyna-yoga > Bg 6.6 For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his very mind will be the greatest enemy.

Attaining Highest Happiness Dhyna-yoga > BG 6.27 The yogī whose mind is fixed on Me verily attains the highest happiness. By virtue of his identity with Brahman, he is liberated; his mind is peaceful, his passions are quieted, and he is freed from sin.

Spiritualise mind AUM (Omkara): material->spiritual absorption

Focus on Divine/Krishna Focus on Wealth, Power, Glamour.. Focus and Destination Death Focus on Divine/Krishna Focus on Wealth, Power, Glamour..

Making our activities spirtual

Destination for Worshipers of Demigods BG 9.25, Most Confidential Knowledge: “man-mana bhava mad-bhakt…” “Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, offer obeisances and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me.”

Pathway for Migration to Spiritual World Understand: Body, Soul? Supreme Person? Relationship? Kill demons, KKL… Need a Brahmastra? Practice: ABC of KC Association, Books, Chanting of Holyname Add T+HO HOT Home+Office+Temple

To Conclude: Consciousness decides the next destination

Pathway for Migration to Spiritual World Qualifications? Same as migration to Australia, Europe, USA!

Qualification for Migration to Spiritual World Lord Krishna said (BG 8.5, Ultimate Goal of Life): “Whoever, at the time of death, quits his body, remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt”.
