“Jesus for Real” John 1: /28/2010 Dr. Dane Boyles

John 1: The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!”

John 1: When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”

John 1:39 39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about the tenth hour.

John 1:40 40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus.

John 1:41 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).

John 1:42 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter).

“Jesus for Real” Wowed! 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” (1:38)

John 1:39 39 So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him.

Romans 1:16 16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

“Jesus for Real” How can we bring people to Jesus. How can we bring people to Jesus.  Want them to be saved.  Pray for them.  Tell them what Jesus did for you.  Invite them to a place or an event where they will hear gospel.

1 Corinthians 1:21 21 God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Romans 10:14 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Acts 2: “… Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. 23 This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.

Acts 2:24 24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.

Acts 2:37 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Acts 2:38 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:39 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
