SCIENCE FAIR 2017 Whoop Whoop!!

IT’S TIME!!!!!!! SCIENCE FAIR 2017!. What an opportunity for you to shine. Show everyone what you can do. We know this isn’t your favorite activity, but it does have some important benefits Science fair provides you with skills you will use in all your math courses and of course all of your science courses. It will give you tools to critically think and problem solve. So, let’s fall in love with the science fair.

THE SCIENCE FAIR HAS LOTS OF RESEARCHES ! A research paper A research report A research plan Auugh! So many researches to keep straight. So let’s go through them!

THE RESEARCH PAPER It is EVERYTHING! It’s the science fair board and the folder with all the particulars in it. (More to come) This will be due complete the week before Thanksgiving break.

THE RESEARCH REPORT Is the background information for the project. It is the researched information that forms the support for your hypothesis. It is a two to three page report that describes the experimental variables, the measurements of the dependent variables, and the control variable (that which acts as the status quo, the regular guy). The Research report concludes with the hypothesis. A paragraph that ties together the independent variable the dependent variables to support your idea of what will happen Uses the information from the Bibliography Cards Requires six sources (society for science is one source) 5 sources deal with your topic. More if have a special project Bibliography cards

THE RESEARCH PLAN Is the overview of the project and the very specific steps of your designed. It is part of Form 1A. The Research plan is part of the forms that are required for science fair. The Research plan along with the other forms must be completed and approved before experimentation can begin. See the time line for the due dates for the forms. Polk County Fillable Research Plan

HOW TO DO BIBLIOGRAPHY CARDS Five Cards for each Source SS e1E 1 Cite your source 1A Fact etc So you will have a total of 30 cards 5 source and a minimum of 5 fact cards for each source
